Describe the steps involved with the Rapid Evolutionary Prototyping Approach as it applies to developing a Web application. How is it related to agile development?
The prototype to be developed should be functional, flexible in term of modification and developed with minimum effort but representing all key parts of the proposed web applications.
The steps involved with rapid evolutionary prototyping approach can be summarized below:
a. Collect initial user requirements;
b. Develop the prototype based on initial user requirements;
c. Test the prototype with real data by users;
d. Collect and record testing results on the prototype;
e. Collect modified/additional user requirements after testing the prototype;
f. Modify the prototype taking into accounts information collected in Step d and e;
g. Repeat Steps d, e and f until all the user requirements are incorporated;
h. Develop the production version of the prototype. Sometimes the latest version of the prototype would become the production version of the application.
